Participants will be introduced to clinical skills for client use

This course has been approved by the Kentucky Board of Social Work Licensure.The training will address ethical standards as set forth in 201 KAR 23:080 and the NASW Code of Ethics. The program will address practice application of the code of ethical conduct through case examples and discussion. The program will serve to satisfy continuing education requirements for social workers, specific to 201 KAR 23:080. Participants will review the 201 KAR 23:080 regulation with regard to social work ethics, thoroughly review the 201 KAR 23:080 Code of Ethics to gain a clear understanding of its content and practice implications.This will be a three credit hour course. Members will be $30.00 and Non-Members will be $60.00

The training will address ethical standards as set forth in 201 KAR 23:080 and the NASW Code of Ethics. The program will address practice application of the code of ethical conduct through case examples and discussion. The program will serve to satisfy continuing education requirements for social workers, specific to 201 KAR 23:080. Agenda will include a welcome, introductions, review of mission statement, core values, major principles, values and principles combined, ethical standards and responsibilities, steps of how to make an ethical decision, review of literature on malpractice and audit issues. Participants will review the 201 KAR 23:080 regulation with regard to social work ethics, thoroughly review the 201 KAR 23:080 Code of Ethics to gain a clear understanding of its content and practice implications.

The cost is $30 for NASW KY members and $60 for non members.

Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement Training (CARE)

The objective of the presentation is for participants to learn a field-initiated modification of the evidence-based parent-child interaction therapy. All participants will be trained in CARE by the end of the presentation and will be able to apply in a practice setting.

Child Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE) is a trauma-informed,field-initiated modification of specific Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) skills forgeneral usage by adults who work with traumatized children. This promising interventionapproach is based on PCIT, but it is a separate intervention that began developing collaboratively in 2004 by the Trauma Treatment Training Center (TTTC) and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center with therapists and service providers in a variety of settings whom the TTTC had trained in PCIT.

Substance Abuse Skills with Co-Occurring Populations

Enhance clinical effectiveness in assessing, diagnosing, determining level of care, and developing treatment plans for the substance abuse presentations of co-occurring populations.

Become familiar with NIDA's principles of effective treatment.

Practice capacity to use DSM-IV, ASAM and SAMHSA Best Practices in engaging the variety of presenting problems introduced by co-occurring populations.
