HOUSTON, TX — Skies have been overcast throughout the Houston area all day Friday, but meteorologists are predicting severe storms Friday evening.
Storms will usher in a cold front that will include gusty winds and cooler temperatures once the rain moves through early Saturday.

A majority of the heavy rain is expected to stay well north of the Houston area, particularly in areas of Montgomery County and Grimes County, with scattered rain moving through the area overnight into Saturday morning.
The rain will give way to beautiful sunny weather with temps close to 70 all weekend.
