HOUSTON, TX — In addition to providing a massive security detail for the Barbara Bush funeral and procession last weekend, the Houston police has another busy weekend with more shootings. HPD reported four shootings over the weekend that left two people dead.

Woman Shot To Death After Not Letting Man Use Her Cellphone
Tiffany McKnight, a 29-year-old woman, went out for groceries Saturday and arrived back at her townhome at 2725 Reed Road at 9:05 p.m. to the greeting of a man asking to use her cellphone. She denied him. The two got into a tussle, and he allegedly pulled gun and shot the woman twice.
Police have arrested Dondrick Dejuan Flagg, 29, and charged him with capital murder in the 263rd State District Court. HPD said once McKnight refusedto give him her phone, Flagg dragged her out of her car, at which time the two began to struggle. During the struggle multiple shots were fired at McKnight. he sustained a gunshot wound to her back and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Flagg then fled on foot. Responding officers located a man who matched the description of Flagg near the apartment complex and attempted to arrest him. Flagg took and, during the chase, threw a firearm. Flagg was taken into custody following a brief foot chase and subsequently charged.

2 men shot dead, another injured outside club
Houston police are investigating the deadly shooting of two men and the wounding of another that occurred at a night club 14600 Buffalo Speedway at 4:15 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The identity of the deceased men are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide reported that the three victims were sitting inside their vehicle waiting at the club when the suspects drove by in a black four-door Toyota Camry and began shooting at their vehicle. The victims attempted to leave but were unable because of their injuries. Two victims were pronounced dead while a third victim was taken by HFD paramedics to the hospital.
The suspects are described only as three to four black males.
Drive-by shooting Friday near UH
Houston police said a family of four parked their car in front of the Scott Food Store at 3341 Winbern around 4:30 p.m. last Friday. A man got outside the vehicle while a woman remained in the front seat and two children were in the back.
Police said a dark-colored SUV, traveling on Tierwester Street, passed by and shots were fired from inside the vehicle toward the store and the victims’ vehicle. No one was struck by the gunfire.
The suspect vehicle continued driving down Tierwester. At this time, there is no known motive nor suspect(s).
Man shot outside club near Chinatown
Luis Alonso Banegas Garcia, 25, reportedly got into a fight with someone at a club in the Chinatown area and then got shot around 7 a.m. Sunday morning. HPD said Banegas Garcia and an unknown suspect got into a fight outside the club’s front door, where the suspect then produced a weapon and shot Banegas Garcia.
The suspect then entered the club and fled the scene, possibly through the back door. Banegas Garcia was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his right shoulder and later released.
